Hello all! I haven't been on this site in a while but it sure looks like I have it under control :D! In case you don't know, I am what you could call the owner of the tech pod network, along with the studio. You will notice that recently we have not had any podcasts. That's partly my fault for being SUPER busy but as we approach Christmas break things will start to slow down for me and the network will start up the live video feed and a steady stream of shows. More below the break...

Brazilian Senator Hopes to Ban The Sale of 'Offensive' Games

Although Brazil isn't new to the idea of banning video games, a recently proposed bill from Senator Valdir Raupp certainly seems pretty drastic. The bill, which was recently passed by the Education Commission of the Senate, and will now go to vote in the Committee on Constitution and Justice, seeks to "curb the manufacture, distribution, importation, distribution, trading and custody, storage [of] the video games that affect the customs [and] traditions of the people, their worship, creeds, religions and symbols."

Quantum Theory Comes to The Xbox 360

Tecmo's Gears of War clone is no longer a PS3 exclusive. During a recent interview in Tokyo, Tecmo revealed that Quantum Theory will also be coming to Xbox 360 in Spring 2010. That's the same North American release window given to the PS3 version, which is currently 70% complete. While Tecmo has traditionally focused on making engines and games exclusively for one system at a time, Quantum Theory is being developed on an unnamed internal PC-based engine designed to make multiplatform development easier, much like Square Enix's Crystal Tools.

Google Music

Google has added new music feature to its already great serch engine. Now users can add music to images, website and video when they search. By searching for songs, artists and even lyrics Google will provide an accurate list of websites that willl make locating an artist or song easier to and easier to purchase. There is even a song preview feature located at the top of the page which allows users to listen to the first 30 seconds of a song. It's great to see the search engine behemoth is still alive and innovative as ever. Google continues to evolve and provide a high level of service.

Sparta

First Chem Class Comic upload. Had a ton of these in a folder somewhere which is now, for all intents and purposes, gone. I do have a few on a server somewhere, although whether they get inked or not is up for debate. Follow the link for the comic.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC beta starts early 2010

BFBC2's associate producer of official blog updates, Gordon Van Dyke, has assured fans that the PC beta will happen, although later than expected. With the huge success of the PS3 beta, the capacity of the PC beta will be drastically increased in order to maximize the amount of people participating in the beta. Expanding the number of beta testers unfortunately made for a delay for the PC version of the game. The extra time will allow for more planning and implementing more optimizations.

IGN: Ten Reasons We Don't Want The Next Gen

Normally by this stage in a console generation's lifespan, we'd have at least one eye trained on the consoles around the corner. Not so this time. Nope, this time there are just too many compelling reasons why the PS3 and Xbox 360 (we're not including the Wii in this particular debate) should hang around for several more years at the least. We've jotted down the ten we think are most salient.
